Front-row coverage of flag football championship games
How Does a Game of Flag Football Work?
Flag football is very popular in the United States and in Canada. The basic rules are you tackle someone by removing their flag. This helps to prevent injury on the field, and it also reduces the need for wearing protective padding. It is basically the same thing as playing football, only their is less chance that you will be injured while you are playing. There are no strict rules on how many players can be on each team. But usually the teams are evenly matched. They can have anywhere between five and nine players on a team. Sometimes you are allowed to punt and score field goals and sometimes you aren’t. Most of the time, you get a touchdown and it is six points and then you can try for a point after conversion is well. When we used to play flag football in college, we got six points for a touchdown and 1 for successfully completing a point after conversion.
The important thing when you are playing flag football is to decide which of your players are going to help the lineman and which ones are going to go out for a pass. Usually you’re allowed to do some minor blocking but you aren’t allowed to tackle. If the quarterback goes into a shotgun position, they will have more time to find a player to pass the ball to. Some versions of like football involve a four or five alligator countdown. When you have a countdown, you typically don’t need lineman to protect the quarterback. Rather, you are going have all of your players go out and try and get open so that they can receive a pass.
