The A.F.T.F.L. has always believed that the physical demands of football demand less games played than a "softball format" tournament. The A.F.T.F.L.'s form of "double elimination" has always been to bracket 4-6 teams per field, make sure everyone plays at least two(2) games on Saturday, eliminate those who lose twice, and bring the survivors back Sunday for a single- elimination "round robin" until we have a winner. On Sunday, opponents are seeded by their performance(W-L, then +/- points) from Saturday. The A.F.T.F.L. has always believed that Sunday becomes like an NFL play-off, you lose, you're done! The "softball" method of Double Elimination is different in that on Sunday, Double Elimination is still in effect. For example, let's that Team's A & B go 2-0 on Saturday, win their 1st two games on Sunday, and finally meet as the only two team left. Team A beats Team B. Then Team B beats Team A. Now a 3rd game becomes necessary for the title. The AFTFL believes that GAME 1 between the two teams results in the most accurate, safe conclusion. The teams are not over-exhausted and less prone to injury.
What do you think?
A) Double Elimination on Saturday, Single Elimination on Sunday.
B) Double Elimination on both days.
C) Option A, but with the final being a longer game (ex. two 30 minutes halves).

In 1998, the A.F.T.F.L. began awarding cash prizes at some events. The feeling was, team's spend a lot of money to travel to tournaments. Between the team fee, hotel fees, food/beer, air/bus/gas fares, some money back would help ease some pressure back on the home front. At our Nationals in Miami, each National Champion team received the Rockne Cup, hats, and $2500. Some feel, however, that cash de-personalizes the Awards ceremony. You don't have each guy coming up for a individual trophy/plaque. Some guys feel that they're not excited by trophies anymore and the cash enables them to attend more tournaments.
  What do you think?
A) I prefer cash prizes over individual trophies or plaques.
B) I prefer a sponsor cup, hats, and some cash.
C) I prefer a sponsor cup and individual awards such as trophies or plaques with no cash.
D) I prefer no cash but individual awards other than trophies/plaques such as team jackets and a sponsor's cup.
